About Fit Notice
I am not going to bore you to death with meticulous details about me and other irrelevant details that I know most of you, if not all, are not interested in. I mean, who really gives a crap who a guy on the internet is, right? Hmm….
What does “Fit Notice” stand for?
My intention behind creating this educational portal was to raise awareness for obesity and provide both evidence and anecdotal based advice to help people achieve their goals. Those goals include losing weight, losing fat, building muscle, becoming fit, increasing strength, improving athletic performance, delaying aging, improving health and living a healthy lifestyle. Thus, I wanted this website to be as inclusive as possible. For instance, obesity is the second leading cause of preventable deaths in the U.S. alone! And due to political correctness and other social reasons, it has become almost impossible to discuss obesity in a reasonable and sensible manner. But, with 1 in every 3 people being obese, it is time to start giving obesity the attention it deserves and do something about it instead of sugar coating it. However, Fit Notice will NOT be limited to discussing obesity.
So, what exactly is Fit Notice all about?
The main reason I decided to build Fit Notice was to sincerely help people lose weight and get in good shape, if not in the best shape of their life. I know the struggle, I have been there, I promise. I know the physical, psychological and emotional consequences one experiences when he or she is not satisfied with their physical image. I also know how much damage this can cause an individual on personal and social levels, and thus all other aspects of that individual’s life -talk about a domino effect! – and I know that you feel like giving up sometimes.
And you know what? Yes, I have spent countless hours on the internet listening to all those fitness gurus talk about how to lose weight rapidly and how I’ll have my dream physique within “insert some unrealistic time frame here” and bla bla bla only to find out that they are just either misinformed, don’t really know much or just trying to sell something and make some money.
In a nutshell, I want to help you lose some fu*king weight and feel better about yourself. I want to show you that there is a better life out there and you can have that. You were not born to suffer regardless of your genetics or whatever mistakes you have committed that made you reach your current body image that you despise so much. You can fix this! All I ask for is your attention.
I am aware that there are tons of other health and fitness related websites out there, but what makes this site so special?
What makes Fit Notice special is the fact that it’s built on honest advice to that aims to help YOU! In addition, while there are tons of recipes out there including healthy ones, I am yet to see a website completely devoted to low calorie delicious recipes that you can cook easily, fast and enjoy while feeling full! You don’t have to be hungry while dieting. Another reason why Fit Notice is special is the fact that it discusses all aspects of health and fitness. There are great sources out there about bodybuilding, losing fat, losing weight…etc. but they all suffer from one detrimental flaw; they are exclusive. What do I mean? Each sites covers ONLY ONE or TWO topics and disregards other audiences. We are all different and we have different goals. Perhaps you don’t want to be a bodybuilder, that’s fine and you will find your educational material on this site. What if you just want to live a healthy and sustainable life? You’ve come to the right place!

A guy who is in love with food (former fatty) + personal experience of 6 years of training + wanting to help people out = Fit Notiec!
A simple equation that simplifies the idea behind this site.
Who am I?
Even though I still believe some people don’t really care who I am, some do -I love you too- and would like to know my story.
My name is Nour Saber and I am a former fatty! Yup, I was obese at some point and guess what? It wasn’t such a pleasant experience. However, I must say that I learned a lot about myself, the human body, my body’s capabilities and a lot of self-discipline, in addition to improving my physical and image and health, of course. I have been training for 6 years now, however, I have always been an athlete. In addition, I do personal training in real life and work in the fitness industry. I have helped numerous people achieve their goals and it’s always delightful to see them come back with a smile on their face to tell me that my tips and advice have worked for them. It’s always a pleasant feeling.
Luckily, I have been an athlete my whole life. I have been playing soccer since the age of 4 and I even played competitively for some time here in the U.S. and overseas. At some point, I decided that I would give up my number 1 passion (read: soccer) and focus on building muscle mass and getting those hard six packs everyone desires. So, I started training at the age of 16 and did not know anything at the time, but thanks to newbie gains, I was able to see some modest changes in my physique. Since my body was not used to that new stress it was being put under, it had to adapt. That trend continued for some time and I did not know much about calories, macros, carbs, fats or anything, I just ate! I kept doing so for a few months then I noticed that I was getting a bit fat and it did not look pretty. My whole goal was to have some muscle mass and be lean, right? Anyway, I kept piling on more fat that first time I tried to “bulk up”, admittedly, I was clueless. So, I decided that I wanted to lose the newly gained fat and started lurking all over the web searching for the ultimate guide to lose fat. Did I really have to count calories? But..but..but that’s too much work. Anyway, due to how optimal humans’ hormones are during puberty, almost anything you do will work. After reading countless articles about restricting your calories and that it’s all about expending more calories than you consume, I started counting my calories and, although, my estimations were off back then since I know better now, they were still rough estimates that helped me get lean. Time passed, and I decided to go on a long bulk to put on some size. I mean, all I had to do was just train hard and eat as much as I can like all the gurus said and I will grow, right? ERRR wrong! Biggest mistake of my entire life. Even though I still counted calories and aimed to eat MORE than what I was expending to gain weight, my estimates were off and the so called reliable calorie calculators gave me a wrong estimation of what my maintenance calories were, so guess what happened? You guessed right my friend! I gained a ton of fat on top of the muscle I had gained, which defeats the entire purpose. In fact, I kept “bulking” for about 8 months straight starting January 2014 all the way up to end of September of that same year. My weight went from 170 lbs. to 237 lbs.!
YES, you read that right! I GAINED 67 POUNDS and boy I looked horrible! Check out the pictures below:
This is me at a lean body weight of 165-170:
And this is me 8 months later at 237 lbs.
So, I decided to turn things around and go on a low-calorie diet again in hopes to cut up and lose that fat as fast as possible. I kept losing weight from beginning of October 2014 all the way till July 2015! Yup, that’s 9 months of cutting (almost a year) just to correct a stupid mistake. My weight had gone down to about 184 lbs., not too bad ha! I still had some annoying fat to lose, though. However, I was finally slim again and relatively lean to fit in regular clothes and not have to catch my breath after walking up a flight of stairs.
Being the perfectionist I am, I wasn’t satisfied! I still didn’t look the way I wanted to look. I did not have those deep striations I had always wanted. I did not have veins across my abs that look like a road map. Thus, I kept learning, experimenting and tweaking things around till I finally got it right! I also sought help. After all, we all learn from each other. Only the ignorant thinks he knows it all!
Fast forward to today, a few current pictures of me:
Healthier than ever!
Can finally do and enjoy the activities I once did.
And definitely more progress to be made (always).
So, enough about me! That was and still is my journey! Because it’s not really the goal that matters, it’s the journey. The goal always remains on the horizon.
If I can do it, so can you. I am not more special than you and I am probably not smarter than you. In fact, you will do much better than me because you will learn from my mistakes and I will make every effort through FitNotice to provide you with sound advice and detailed guides to help you lose weight, lose fat, and build muscle at the most ideal rate possible. Do you just want to look slim and fit? That’s fine too! This portal will provide tons of information about anything health and fitness related. I will provide you with healthy and low calorie recipes that will fill you up, I will provide you with healthy lifestyle tips, weight loss tips, muscle building tips and more! Many real-life scenarios will also be discussed. For instance, what if you are traveling and obviously do not have the time to cook a healthy low calorie meal or cook a meal with specific macro-nutrients, should you starve to death? What if you are on the go and in a rush to prepare your own low calorie meal, should you just wait till you get home 8 hours later and finally eat? Nope! Dieting should never be that difficult and fortunately enough, we live in a time where everything is available, we just need to pay a little more attention. But these scenarios are different stories for posts that are yet to come. Stay tuned my friends!
